HCTC's President - Randy Bass
Welcome to the "World of Grandiose", this area of mega-metropolises, urban sprawl, and giant corporations. Welcome to this era of mergers of banks, manufacturers, and telecommunications companies reflecting the popular concept that "bigger is better". While this notion is well accepted by the public, it is not always correct. Welcome to the "World of Reality" where in spite of large cities and corporate powerhouses, rural America and small companies like our cooperative are alive and well.

Time and progress march on relentlessly. Urban areas and large corporate conglomerates continue to grow and command a significant portion of America's land area and commerce. However, rural areas and small companies, which are small individually but large collectively, still remain a vital link in the business and security of America.
In this era of swift and ever-changing advances in technology, the telecommunications industry has realized more progress than most other industries. These advances in technology have brought about greater demands by consumers for a broader range of products and services. In metropolitan service areas companies such as AT&T, Verizon, and Time Warner are meeting the telecommunications demands of the consumers. In rural areas small companies like our Hill Country Telephone Cooperative are meeting these same demands.
In the current time of increased competition, greater consumer needs, and an unstable financial climate, HCTC has made significiant upgrades to facilitate the availability of technologically advanced services. HCTC is continuing to make progressive strides, and in the coming months, new services, and in the coming months, new services will be available to keep our subscribers equably connected to the rest of the world.
